The Madness of Green Square

15 Dec

I took a walk around Green Square the other day- I was shocked by the freaky Millennial Moderne multi-res going up there.
In 20 years time this area will be known as a museum of kitsch.
Like it or not it has some interesting forms going on (especially if you like pointy corners….).

BTW- I believe that I may have got some of the architects wrong here- please let me know if this is the case.

Some are interesting, some are hard to make a judgement on without seeing whats on the inside. It would be interesting to have been a fly on the wall during the preliminary concept stages of these projects with the interactions between architect and client.

I don’t know what’s “kitsch” about these designs. If anything, they are not daring and sculptural enough for my liking. We need all the originality we can get!!
